It is an amazing tool. Very light and it is sharp. I added a handle and tried it on some pine for my wood stove - worked well but ned to find a somewhat softer wood for the handle. The concept was to cut a tree branch g tho I make a handle in the field. I like it!!
very well consrtucted, feel it should be an inch wider and an inch longer . It reminds my of the wedges the Fire Service uses
I bought this wedge for backpacking trips and it will definitely split any logs you can cut with a folding saw or bucksaw easy. I tried some bigger logs and it does work but it's not the right tool for the job. Also works for a felling wedge. It's much better than trying to double stack plastic wedges.
I have not had a chance to use it yet. Appears well made and it is light. (I like marbles. My 1st hatchet was a marbles forest hatchet-great price for handforged head and (nice but small) hickory handle- see review by wranglerstar) and of course Pathfinder is great!
